RWFL 2010 Award Winners

Run/Walk For Life Grahamstown held its 2010 awards dinner on 26 November where members were awarded for their performances during the year.

Run/Walk For Life Athletics Club female runners of the Year 2010 is Frith van der Merwe. Male Runner of the Year is Patrick Mnto.

Frith van der Merwe kept Run/Walk For Life members entertained with a great speech, talking about her times at RWFL as well as some of her memories as a top South African runner.

Frith van der Merwe receives her medal for the RWFL Female Runner of the Year, from Terri-Lynn.

Terri-Lynn and Sid Penney presented the 2010 Run/Walk For Life awards.

Patrick Mnto kisses his medal after been named the RWFL Male Runner of the Year.

Madyke Mokorosi received two awards:
Most distance by a female runner/walker and The Most Dedicated Member.

Adele van der Merwe was awarded the Most Distance  by a Female Walk.

Danika Marquis received the awards for the Most Distance by a Female Runner.

Paul Greenway received the award for the Most Distance by a Male Runner.

Patrick Mnto received the following awards:
Fastest 4km time trial by a male;
Fastest half-marathon by a male;
Male Runner of the Year.

Frith van der Merwe received the following awards:
Most Official Race for the Year;
Fastest Marathon by a female:
Veteran Runner of the Year;
Performance of the Year:
Female Runner of the Year.

Richard Alexander was named Walker of the Year, as well as the Most Improved member of the Year.

 Terri-Lynn received awards for the Fastest 4km time trial by a female and the fastest half marathon.

Jene was awarded the Furthest Distance by a member award, as well as a special award for her great Comrades Marathon in 2010 where she took off 50 minutes of her previous best Comrades time.

Carriot Galela was awarded the  Fastest Marathon by a Male award.

Jene Banfield received the award for The Most  Distance Covered in Races.
